Focus Wall posters for the different focuses of the week.
A Poem About Gabriela: Students write a poem using the letters in Gabriela’s name.
Suffixes –y and –ful cut and paste activity: Students paste words with these suffixes to the correct sheet.
Roll a Spelling Word: Students will need a die for this activity. They roll the dice and practice writing their 12 main spelling words.
Color Me by High Frequency Word: Students color according to where the word is at.
5. Vocab Flip Flap: Print these pages two sided. Students fold these pages “hotdog” ways. They fill out the foldable
accordingly. If they are struggling with the definition portion,
they can look it up in the glossary at the back of their book.
My name is… Student Booklet: Students write out things about themselves. I suggest they read each others when they are done.
Understanding Gabriela Craft: Students practice writing I think… statements about Gabriela, but need to support it with evidence from the text.
8. The Verb Be Flip Flap : Print these sheets two sided. Students then will fold it, and it fill it out accordingly.
9. Spelling and High Frequency Practice:
Students practice their Spelling and High Frequency words for this lesson by, tracing, writing, and rainbow writing.
10. Comprehension Tri-Fold: Print these pages two sided. Students fold like a brochure. They fill it out about the story, and goes along with understanding characters.
