Color Me By Words to Know/ Spelling: This is a coloring activity to practice the high frequency words and spelling words of the week. Story Structure Cupcakes: This is an adorable book/ craft that pairs nicely with the story, and story structure. Build a Cupcake Synonyms Activity: This is an adorable craft that helps practice making synonyms. Prepositional Phrase Foldable Book: This is a foldable booklet for students to practice the understanding of prepositions and prepositional phrases. A Cupcake Party Tri-Fold: Print these sheets front to back. Students fold it like a brochure. Fill it out about the week’s selection. Spelling + High Frequency Practice: Students will read, trace, write, and rainbow write the high frequency words and spelling words. Common Core Standards Addressed: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.1.2.d Use conventional spelling for words with common spelling patterns and for frequently occurring irregular words.
