Contains focus wall posters for all main focuses of the week.
Vocab Flip-Flap-Print these two sided. Students fold these pages “hot dog” ways. They fill out the flip flap accordingly.
If they are struggling with the definition portion, they can look it up in the glossary at the back of their book.
Roll a Spelling Word- You will need a dice for this activity. Students roll the dice and write down a spelling word from the week. It focuses on the 12 main spelling words of the week.
Color Me By High Frequency Word- Students practice recognizing the different High Frequency Words in these color by activity sheets.
Comma Paint Buckets- This is a cut and paste activity to practice the different uses of commas.
My School Sign Writing and Activity- This is a writing and craft that pairs nicely with the story.
Shades of Meaning Paint Craft- Students practice the skills of shades of meaning by picking 4 different words for their paint swatch that have same/similar meanings.
Compare and Contrast Norman- This is an activity to test
comprehension of the story and also comparing and
contrasting.
Compare and Contrast Art- This is an activity that has more of a group feel. They make art, and them look at the differences and similarities between the different artists of the classroom.
Synonym Paint Review Page- This activity is to practice making synonyms of different words.
Spelling and High Frequency Practice- Students trace, write, and rainbow write the spelling and high frequency words of the week
