Cause & Effect! It’s all around us! You can find it in nature and our relationships. Learning about Cause and Effect in books helps students to know how to best respond in situations and recognize how things work in the world. I personally love teaching comprehension strategies, and Cause and Effect is imperative in becoming a successful reader. I have a strong belief in teaching comprehension strategies in the younger grades in order for them to fall in love with reading. I mean, who really wants to just read words for nothing?! I have developed my Cause and Effect activities into a comprehensive product to teach Cause and Effect activities with ANY book that is a fiction or non-fiction/selection! This allows you the flexibility to integrate these activities into your specific program. I have laid out the Anchor Charts in a simple way to initially teach Cause and Effect, as well as activities that are provided in this unit. Additionally, there are simple worksheets provided to help students recognize and practice Cause and Effect. Other than that; all crafts, graphic organizers, etc., have no limit as to what book to tie it in with.
