Vocab Flip-Flap- Print these pages back to back. Students fold these pages “hot dog” ways. They fill out the flip flap accordingly. If they are struggling with the definition portion, they can look it up in the glossary at the back of their book.
Spelling in ABC Order- Students put the spelling words in alphabetical order. When they are done the pick 7 of the words, and put it in sentences on the back
Plural Nouns Interactive Journal Page- Students write down “the rule” for what nouns have what ending under the flaps. They also list plural nouns with that ending.
Prefix Mis- Interactive Journal Page- Students write what “mis” means under the flap, and list words with that prefix.
Baseball Visualize It! Craft/ Art- Students use details from the story to form a picture in their head. They then draw it out on the baseball. Students can also add “stitching” to the baseball.
Cause & Effect Baseballs Mobile- Students practice recognizing cause and effect in this activity.
Biography Booklet Project- Students research a historical figure and make a booklet about them.
Spelling Practice- You will need a dice for this activity. Students will roll to find out what spelling word to write. They keep going until all squares are filled. They also pick some of the words, and put them into sentences.
Comprehension Tri-Fold- Print front to back and fold like a brochure. Students fill this out about the story.
