Vocab Flip-Flap- Print these pages back to back. Students fold these pages βhot dogβ ways. They fill out the flip flap accordingly. If they are struggling with the definition portion, they can look it up in the glossary at the back of their book.
Pie Spelling in ABC Order- Students put the spelling words in alphabetical order. When they are done the pick 7 of the words, and put it in sentences on the back.
Pie Predictions- Students write down predictions about the story as they read.
Kinds of Sentences Interactive Journal Page- Students record what each kind of sentence is, and write down an example under each flap.
Compound Words Interactive Journal Page- Students write what the compound word is on the front of the flap then on the inside of the flap write down the compound word in a sentence.
Use Your Dictionary Booklet- Students practice finding words in a dictionary.
Drawing Conclusions Moose Craft- This is an adorable craft/ writing activity that pairs nicely with the weekβs selection while practicing a comprehension strategy.
Spelling Practice- You will need a dice for this activity. Students will roll to find out what spelling word to write. They keep going until all squares are filled. They also pick some of the words, and
put them into sentences.
Comprehension Tri-Fold- Print front to back and fold like a brochure. Students fill this out about the story.
